According to a study published on April 13, 2006, in The New England Journal of Medicine, the antibiotic Ketek may be effective in treating viral asthma.
Ketek, a drug prescribed since 2004 to treat severe bacterial lung and sinus infections, may also help patients who suffer from acute viral asthma attacks. The problem may be that Ketek has also been associated with liver damage in some patients.
